Thousands celebrate Fiesta in the Magic City

Cultural diversity was celebrated at Fiesta.
It was a day of Hispanic-flavored music, food and fun. Fiesta, the annual festival celebrating the diverse cultures within Alabama’s Hispanic community, drew more than 10,000 people to Birmingham’s Linn Park Saturday, Sept. 27.

More than 10,000 people enjoyed Fiesta this year.
Alabama Power is a longtime supporter of Fiesta, which began 12 years ago and has grown steadily to become one of the major fall festivals in the Birmingham area.
This year the company sponsored the Cultural Village, where representatives from about 20 nations offered displays showcasing their respective cultures, history, dress and food.

Cultural diversity was celebrated as the festival as well.
During Saturday’s event, bilingual representatives of Alabama Power were also on hand to educate members of the Hispanic community about the many products and services the company offers.
