Never a day off for the holidays at Alabama Power

Alabama Power employees worked through the holiday to keep the lights on for customers, including those at Plant Gorgas near Parrish.
Christmas 2015 in Alabama will be remembered for wild weather – from warm temperatures and heavy rains to destructive tornadoes.
Alabama Power crews worked into the night on Christmas to get the lights back on in tornado-torn southwest Birmingham – some traveling from as far as Montgomery and Mobile to help. Meanwhile, the company’s hydro teams worked through the holidays to manage high water at Alabama Power dams to reduce flooding downstream.
But they are just the tip of the holiday icicle. Many more Alabama Power employees worked through the holidays, on day and night shifts, to meet the needs of customers.
Here is a photo gallery of just a few of our folks, at power plants, operations centers and customer service offices, who gave up their holidays to help make our customers’ holidays brighter.
