SpringHouse Vegetable Plate stars as one of 100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama

The Vegetable Plate at SpringHouse in Alexander City has been there as long as executive chef Pete McKenny, who started working at the restaurant near Lake Martin when it opened 12 years ago.
“That’s been here pretty much since Day 1,” he said. “We try to keep it simple for us to produce, but still elegant for the table.”

McKenny calls the vegetables “the star of the plate.” The star shines bright enough to have caught the attention of the Alabama Tourism Department, which has included the Vegetable Plate on its list of 100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama.
