The Oak Mountain Festival of Lights had hoped to extend Christmas into the new year, but Mother Nature had other plans.

“Due to flooding at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre from the December 25th storms, the Oak Mountain Festival of Lights will be forced to close for the remainder of the season,” Red Mountain Entertainment announced in a release. “Unused advance tickets can be refunded at the Piggly Wiggly from which they were purchased. We would like to thank all our patrons for letting us be a part of your holiday celebrations and wish everyone a Happy New Year!”

The start of this year’s event was delayed due to weather and technical difficulties. It was supposed to extend to January 3 but will now not reopen.

For those who were unable to make it, here is a small taste of some of the displays.
