A wreath-laying ceremony in Kelly Ingram Park was led by Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity to honor Martin Luther King Jr. on this holiday named for the civil rights leader.

The ceremony was one of several events that took place in Birmingham as well as across the state and across the country to mark this holiday.
