The Alabama League of Municipalities (ALM), a voluntary association of cities and towns, formed May 15, 1935. Recognized as the voice of Alabama’s cities and towns, the league has grown to 460 members today. The league is best known for representing its members before the Alabama Legislature, Congress and numerous administrative agencies. However, the association also offers leadership, ethics and other training to elected and other officials. Additionally, the league works to educate Alabama citizens about how municipal governments operate. ALM is based in Montgomery.
