With the school year getting underway, Full Moon Bar-B-Que has announced the launch of a statewide program, “Backpack Blessings,” aimed at providing food, supplies and hope to Alabama children.

Through Nov. 30, Full Moon will be selecting children each week to receive a Backpack Blessing valued at more than $250. The backpacks will include a $25 gift card to Full Moon Bar-B-Que, $25 gift card to Walmart, Full Moon leather planner with calculator, USB flash drive memory stick, school supplies, hand sanitizer, disposable face masks and an array of Full Moon swag.

“2020 has thrown many unexpected and undeserved curve balls at our communities, whether that be loss of jobs, virtual learning or a general shift in daily activities,” said David Maluff, co-owner of Full Moon Bar-B-Que. “Full Moon is dedicated to the communities we serve and look forward to delivering food and supplies to children and their families while also providing a glimmer of hope during a tumultuous season.”

During the 12-week campaign, children who are selected will receive an Under Armour backpack shipped to their home. To nominate an Alabama child, visit http://www.fullmoonbbq.com/backpackblessings and complete the form with detailed information explaining why the nominee deserves to receive a Backpack Blessing. Submissions may remain anonymous upon request.

“After the high demand from Full Moon Bar-B-Que’s ‘Feed a Friend’ giveback initiative during spring 2020, we, as a company and community partner, were focused on pushing forward with a new campaign to continue to keep our communities fed, both emotionally and physically,” said Joe Maluff, co-owner.
