O’Daly’s Irish Pub in Mobile

The o’ltimate way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day is first thing in the morning with Kegs and Eggs at O’Daly’s Irish Pub at 6 a.m. Have a green breakfast to get the festivities going and top it off with $1 green beer. The venue is at 564 Dauphin St.

St. Patrick’s Day Fundraiser

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by raising scholarship funds for Homewood High School seniors hosted by Rotary Homewood. Enjoy food, beverages and traditional music of Scotland and Ireland live from the band Hooley. The event is on St. Patrick’s Day from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Little London. The venue is at 162 Oxmoor Road in Birmingham. Tickets are $40.

St. Patrick’s Day Party “Lucky Saturday” on the Roof

Get a premium view of Birmingham’s St. Patrick’s Day parade from the rooftop with a live DJ, Irish styled menu and specialty cocktails. The festivities welcome back Birmingham’s biggest St. Patrick’s Day celebration in historic Five Points South. The “Lucky Saturday” party is at The Hive March 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.

Highlights Tour for Women’s History Month at the Birmingham Museum of Art

Birmingham Museum of Art (BMA) will feature Women’s History Month Wednesday, March 23 from noon to 12:30 p.m. Celebrate with a tour by Rachel White, director of Learning and Engagement, as she spotlights women artists whose work is represented in the BMA collection. Each Highlights Tour offers an intimate look at specific areas of the BMA collection with a BMA curator or educator. Learn something new from the collection of more than 27,000 works of art.

The Freedom Rides Museum honors Women’s History Month

The Freedom Rides Museum in Montgomery, a historic property of the Alabama Historical Commission, will present a series of weekly virtual conversations every Friday in March at noon in honor of Women’s History Month. Programs will feature conversations with women who were either involved in the Freedom Rides or whose history intersected with the Freedom Riders. Women’s History Month in Mobile

Join the city of Mobile for celebrations honoring the contributions of women throughout March.

Festivities include:

  • Women Supporting Women: Every Monday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., shop until you drop at the women-owned pop-up market along the Mobile River (101 South Water St.) with music and food trucks.
  • Words of Women: Follow @mobileparkandrec every Wednesday to hear empowering messages from women in and around the area.
  • Sip ‘n Paint: Wrap up the Women’s History Month celebration Monday, March 28 with an evening of sipping and painting at Cooper Riverside Park (101 South Water St.). The cost is $25 for an 8-inch-by-10-inch canvas and painting supplies. Those attending must be 21 or older. There will be music, vendors, food trucks and adult beverages available for purchase. Sixteenth Street Baptist Church celebrates 150 years with “Memorial” performance

Downtown Birmingham’s beautiful historic churches are celebrating 150 years in the heart of the city, and each one is planning special community programming to mark the occasion. One of the first events will be hosted by the 16th Street Baptist Church. The church is partnering with Red Mountain Theatre to present the musical drama “Memorial” in the church’s sanctuary Sunday, March 20 at 4 p.m. “Memorial” is a theatrical experience that examines the scourge of lynching in Jefferson County from the 1890s through the 1930s. Through spirit-stirring music and drama, the play commemorates lives lost to senseless racially motivated violence in a dark time in American history. The performance is free to the community. Great Birmingham Bake-off

Workshops Empowerment (WE) will host the Great Birmingham Bake-off Saturday, March 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Cahaba Brewing. Sample delicious baked goods made by competing teams of local bakers. Local celebrity judges will determine the Grand Champion and the Team Spirit awards. All ticket holders can vote for the People’s Choice Award. There will be live music and food trucks, and WE’s Junior Board will sell WE Made mixes and products.
